This project involved collaboration with an M&E contractor engaged by a division of the Italy council for a site in the South East of Italy. The contractor approached HONNY to meet their customer’s backup power requirements, based on our successful track record on similar projects.
PROJECT DETAILS
The customer required a robust backup power system to ensure continuous operation of their site, which included several offices, in the event of a power outage. This backup power was crucial due to the essential services provided by the council.
Backup Power Generator Specification
After reviewing the specifications provided by the M&E contractors, HONNY designed a custom power solution featuring:
● Generator: HCL240, 300kVA diesel generator powered by a SCANIA DC9-71A engine.
● Water Jacket Heater: To maintain the engine's temperature for effective startup.
● Fuel Tank: Mounted on a 520L bunded fabricated base frame fuel tank, enabling up to 12 hours of unassisted runtime.
● Remote Start: DSE890 Modem for remote start and stop capabilities via mobile device, with full visibility of alarms and running functions.
● Marine Paint Coating: Applied to the genset to protect against coastal sea air corrosion. The company chose red paint to match their branding.
Installation and Execution
The generator set was transported to the site and successfully installed by the M&E contractors.
